Actor Tom Hardy sent fans into a frenzy after the Hollywood star was spotted in the Northeast over the holiday season.

With many people spending time with family over Christmas, it seems the Legend, Peaky Blinders and Venom star is no different than many people saw the actor hanging around Teesside on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

With people doing their pre-Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve and post-Christmas relaxation on Boxing Day, a few people have been lucky enough to stumble upon a star on their travels and have a photo to prove it.

The actor was first spotted on Christmas Eve at the Smyths Toy Superstore on Portrack Lane in Stockton – where a select few chatted with him and had their picture taken with the A-lister.

This then continued on Boxing Day when two happy Boots employees were photographed with Tom at Teesside Park.

Wearing the hat on both occasions, Tom might have hoped to avoid the spotlight – but in both cases, his broad smile suggested he was more than happy to chat with his fans and take a picture with them.

This is not the first time the Peaky Blinders star has been spotted in our area as he has family ties to Teesside.

His wife, actress Charlotte Riley, is from Thorpe Thewles near Stockton, where she attended Teesside High School.

However, his grandfather was also born in the area.

There are many examples where Tom made time for the people of Teesside during his travels.

Ormesby man Danny Appleby was stunned in August this year when he entered a Jiu-Jitsu tournament and discovered he was going to fight the actor.

Tom was also spotted locally last Christmas visiting Saltburn Mini Golf for a coffee on the Lower Promenade.

The actor, as well as before, was spotted on a night out in Yarm after going out for a drink at the popular Black Bull pub in 2018.
