Kate celebrates her 41st birthday on the eve of the release of Harry’s diary

The Princess of Wales celebrates her 41st birthday just one day before the Duke of Sussex’s controversial memoir hits store shelves.

Kate, whose birthday falls on January 9, is likely to celebrate the day in a private, family way during a period of breakdowns and turmoil in the royal family.

A flood of inflammatory claims came from Harry Spare’s leaked autobiography, which was also put up for sale early in Spain ahead of its official release on Tuesday.

But this isn’t the first time Kate’s birthday has been overshadowed by revelations from the Sussex camp.

Harry and Meghan have announced the shocking news that they will be resigning as senior members of the royal family on January 8, 2020.

Kate, born in 1982, grew up in Bucklebury, Berkshire, and attended the private boarding school Marlborough College.

She met William in 2001 when she was studying art history at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

The couple, who briefly separated in 2004, married in April 2011 at Westminster Abbey and have since had three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Kate celebrated her 40th birthday last year by posting three striking photos of herself dancing in Alexander McQueen dresses, taken by renowned fashion photographer Paolo Roversi.

This year, Kate’s birthday comes after intimate details about Harry’s life and family, including claims about his sister-in-law, surfaced from his new memories.

Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace declined to comment but the book is seen as damaging Harry’s fragile relationship with his brother – the future king – beyond repair.

The prince claims William and Kate encouraged him to wear a Nazi uniform to a fancy dress party in 2005 and “both howled” at the idea.

It also writes that Meghan upset Kate by saying she needed to have “baby brains” in the run-up to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 2018 wedding, Kate demanded an apology and William pointed the finger at Meghan and called her “naughty”.

The Duke of Sussex writes about the infamous argument between Meghan and Kate while trying on a bridesmaid dress for Princess Charlotte, claiming to have found his wife “on the floor” in tears after a fall.

Also in the book, the prince says Kate reluctantly lent Meghan her lip gloss, was “surprised” by the request to borrow it and “grimaced” as Meghan squeezed some on her finger and applied it to her lips.
