Meghan has been reprimanded for telling Kate she has ‘baby brains’, Harry reveals in new book

Prince Harry has shared details of an alleged feud between his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and sister-in-law Kate, Princess of Wales, in his new diary: Reserve.

In the book, due for release on January 10, the Duke of Sussex recalls an incident that occurred in the run-up to his and Meghan’s royal wedding in May 2018. The incident centers on the alleged Duchess of Sussex telling Kate she must be suffering from “baby brain due to her hormones,” according to Daily mailwho cites a “well-placed source” for the details of the memoir.

Kate gave birth to Prince Louis, her and Prince William’s youngest child, a month before the royal wedding.

behind Daily mailThe source’s source, Prince Harry, writes that Meghan was eventually reprimanded for her comment to Kate and said she wasn’t close enough with her future sister-in-law to talk about her hormones. The Duchess of Sussex is said to have been offended.

“In the book, Harry says there was a discussion about the timing of the wedding rehearsal and flower dresses and Kate was very nervous,” the source said. Meghan said Kate must have “baby brains” because of her hormones. This caused a huge row as Meghan was told she wasn’t close enough with her sister-in-law to talk about her hormones, and that wasn’t the way people talk to each other in the royal family.

The book “explains that Meghan felt the fallout wasn’t her fault” but “doesn’t make her look too good either,” according to the source.

The Mayo Clinic notes that the term “baby brain” often refers to “memory problems, poor concentration, and absent-mindedness reported by many women during pregnancy and early motherhood,” but research regarding the existence of a “baby brain” is mixed.

Insight into the rumored feud between the two women comes after Meghan opened up about her strained interaction with her sister-in-law in her and Prince Harry’s new Netflix series, Harry and Meghan.

In the documentary series, Meghan claimed that when she first met Kate and William she was in ripped jeans and barefoot, and that she was surprised by the couple’s formality, even behind closed doors.

“I was a hug. I’ve always liked cuddling, I didn’t realize that many Brits find it really annoying,” she recalls. “I think I started to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside translates into the inside.”

The Duchess also opened up about her relationship with the Princess of Wales during her and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which she explained that she didn’t make Kate cry in the run-up to the royal wedding as reported in the tabloids.

Rather, Meghan said that “the opposite happened.”

β€œIt had been a really rough wedding week and she was nervous about something. But she owned it and she apologized and brought me flowers and an apology note,” Meghan recalls. “She did what I would do if I knew I had hurt someone, just took responsibility for it.”

At the time, Meghan said the problem stemmed from disagreements over flower girl dresses and that it “made [her] cry”.

In addition to the insight into the relationship between Meghan and Kate, Prince Harry’s memoirs also include a number of bombshell allegations, such as the claim that William physically assaulted him.

β€œ[William] he called me by a different name and then walked over to me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, tore my necklace and knocked me to the floor,” Harry writes in his memoirs Guardian.

The shop says the alleged incident took place at Nottingham Cottage after William reportedly described Meghan as “difficult”, “rude” and “rough”.

Independent contacted representatives of the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment.
