LONDON – Londoners return to Paris Men’s Fashion Week after a four-year hiatus.
The British Fashion Council has announced that London show Rooms will partner with Tranoï Men in January 2023 in the French capital.
Rooms, a platform for emerging menswear talent, will take place from January 19 to 22 at Garage Amelot in the Marais district.
Around 17 designers will be attending, including Abigail Ajobi, Carlota Barrera and Charlie Constantinou, who will present their collections to international buyers and the press.
BFC began organizing rooms in 2008, opening a pop-up in Paris as part of the organization’s support and mentoring programs.
This is the first time Rooms has been shown in Paris since June 2019. The presentation has been put on hold due to Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic.
But BFC is reactivating its shows and live shows after the pandemic.
In December, the BFC announced a tentative schedule of London Fashion Week physical and digital shows and presentations. The Fall 2023 showcase will take place February 17-23 and will feature designers for both menswear and womenswear.
Burberry will headline the fall 2023 calendar as the British brand prepares for Daniel Lee’s debut at the fashion house on February 20.
The show season will start with Paul Costelloe on February 17, followed by Fashion East, Edward Crutchley and Huishan Zhang.
BFC Newgen designer Sinéad O’Dwyer will also be present on the day. She is a London-based Irish designer who has carved a niche in popular culture, dressing stars such as Lara Stone, Paloma Elsesser, Björk, Arca and Precious Lee.
Richard Quinn donates space for Burberry’s latest show. For the last few seasons, he has been closing the case. Riccardo Tisci recently showed collections that went beyond the traditional calendar.
Out of respect for Queen Elizabeth II, whose funeral coincided with London Fashion Week in September, Burberry held the Spring 2023 show after Paris Fashion Week on September 26. It was Tisca’s swan song for the fashion house.
Cocktails and in-store events will also return in the fall 2023 calendar to commemorate London Fashion Week.
